Stories from the Fork grave / Pike Air U-Turn traveling
After 2 Years riding my revelation it is gone. A brake at the bridge. A good result for a 1580g lite fork.
I need a new hard fork: I choose the Pike 454 Air, which isn't available as Dual air gabel, rather available as U-Turn.
That means to me, the fork has to beacome less weight. The motion Controll yields an air plugin and the shank was cliped. AND look: 2030g
The second prob is the suspension. 110- 140mm is ajustable. To much for my Mob and o wish 70-110mm.
Both Air chambers should be emptied out. We push down the Head of the U-Turn and remove the snap ring. You see 5 balls an springs which we bring in secure. Loose the Topcap and use a rubber hammer to beat against the lower end of the fork, to remove the complete U-Turn Unit.
both Snaprings must be taken away with much care. The negative unit must be seperated from the positive unit with some muscle power.Important: The rubberpipe!
This one must be cutted in the half!
Now we're going to build the perfekt Spacer. I bought 10x20mm plastic spacer. The holes were drilled out to 11,5mm and every Spacer got 2 holes that the air system works. The build up is easy: a half rubberpipe, Spacer, second half of the rubberpipe and the original sealing disc.
The Ruberpipes steam the fork attempt. Fter that, the negative unit comes to the U-unit again and the other way round build together. Here is a care manual from Rock Shox: Link.
Now You're finished: Give air to the fork and your Pike is traveled!
Who is cack-handed or is afaid of mistakes gives his fork to an expert. Guaranty or something like that is by yourself.

ligh rims by MacMahone and Sun
MacMahone brings out a nice lite wheelset. The 32 hole rims are made of carbon and called Ozone. The rims are combined with the King 120. The colours are black and white, weight info is missing.
Sun releases a light 24" rim for hard action: The Envy. The in the Bmx section known Rim weights 501g. 28mm wide and 36 holes, v-brake and discbrake drivable. The colours are just black and chrome.
