Ride Lite Webzine English Version
... -welcome to the range of little tuning for a lot of money. The switch of boltss is the last way to lighten your bike. Titanium and aluminium bolts replacing old steel bolts. And this is very expensive! One gramm less, costs more than one euro. The first step was the Pivotalbolt from steel to alu: 20g less for rather 7 Euros. Additional my underboss stem at 10g by using ti-bolts. And the seatclamp bolt is loses 4 gramm.
A good Place for bying Ti bolts is this shop. Who wnats to do it like me: Every bolt can be changen which is less burden by alu-bolts (for example:seatpostbolts etc.), higly burdened bolts only by Ti-bolts. Do it as long as your financiell situation allows it.
The new flash magazine F15Teen combines Bmx an fotographics on a very nice way. The Download is for mac & Pc users!
Haunebu is going back to the Dirt-/Streetscene. They come back with an fixed fork with the installation high of 480mm (which is like a 140mm suspension fork). The headtube is in 1 1/8" and 6mm strong. By this high of installation and the pipe diameter of 31,8mmis the weight with 1,6kg eally nice. (but there exist a lot of more beautifull an more lighter forks). More facts: for 10mm Axis, for 160mm discbrakes.
Pivotal-Systems are integrated for a time, and not only for bmx riders. Federal used the patent of MacNeil and released a 75mm long and 66g small seatpost and proper slimseats, which weigh 250g. The seatposts (66 und 96g) costs 24,95 Euro, the slimseats 34,95 Euro.
make it more lighter with a Ti6Al4V Ti-bolt from Knight. Indeed it costs about 20 Euros.
you get it at DoubleXStore
At the 9th of February 2007 Ride Lite was born. At first we had a different aim, but it works different than thinks; at this place a little note: "Webzine" includes the old "Online magazine" Since that day 369 articles were posted and we don't see an end. We are going to write good news and to be on the top. Unfortunately we noted, that often the light parts, are not the best ( i'm thinking of alu cranks, plastic parts, etc), but this is, why we are here. Now i have to thank the Double X Store in Dortmund Hombruch, who supports us with good stuff an a lot of know how.
Not unspoken is Frank Heinrich, the man behind Leafcycles – Thanks a lot, that we were allowed to test your D.One, it was an honor. Frank sent us a little Birthdaycard
I don't forget Ulrich „Ulfred“ Nölle of Veltec, who builts my wonderfull wheelset and gives a good tip at every opportunity. Know-how is one of the importants parts of living lite. he sends us a very funny birthdayletter:
„At first: happy birthday and much fun for your future. I used Ride Lite often as an source of information and i was very inspired by the article about the PVC BB.
learning by doing: I tunded the headset of the bike of my daughter. To this point it works great ( ok, the intractable response characteristic sucks). And the Zero BB works great, too.
My daughter loves it, Dad is proud: great!
Thanks Ride Lite!!“
Last but not least a big THANKS to our Reader. You're pushing our counter higher and higher, every day. Your support was good at all, too. many thanks for your Trust and loyalty.

Hier is the new site of Deity!
No, we're not going to work with hammer and scissor, but we're going to use a cutting disc, a file and a carpet cutter. Reducing the weight is often the serach for little details.
We start at the pedals. It's rather not about the weight, it's about the look. So we kill every refelctor mounting by using our file.if someone is interested in: it lightened the pedals about 12g. But don't forget, you're losing your guarantee.
if we're talking about pedals: my NC-17 Mags are used since nearly 1,5 years. The bearings are running as at the first day, the money i spent was spent right, the more so as the orignial weight is about 369g. A possible tuning opportunity is the Ti axis as rather killing the reflector mountings. Available here, and Leafcycles releases Mags in very cool colours.
At such a light pedal, i can't understand the hype about the plastic pedals. Sure, new materials are very interesting, but at the internet, some people critized the plastic stuff hard with "recycling bmx" and so on. Fact is, that plastic pedals are good for flatland and by normal use not alive for a long time. The use of mags is the definitely better way of spending your money.
We go on the simple way. killing the flangue: 40g!
racing cycle barends weigh 4g. The looks sucks, the weight not.
This Product isn't new yet, but i want to show a weight-picture: the taywan version of the blkmrkt Underboss stem - 44,90 Euro for 177g nice elox look (we weight some stems and the tolerance is about 3 gramm).
MacNeil falls below the Demolition Medial Cranks with their newest production suppositionally that the official details are right. The set with Ti axis weights 676g, the CrMo version 814g (both without bolts and bearings). The reliable 48-fold tooth system with a diameter of 19mm, "super strong" Sanko Japan pipes (270g per crank) and "Graphics that drive the bitches wild" are some details. The cranks are available in black and white. bye and weigh!
